The aims of STSG are "to stimulate interest in, and awareness of, the transport function and its importance for the Scottish economy and society: to encourage contacts between operators, public bodies, users, academia and other organisations and individuals with interests in transport in a Scottish context; to issue publications and organise conferences and seminars related to transport policy and research."

Lessons from 20th Century Transport for the 21st century – 20 January, Glasgow University 3-5pm

Leading transport historian Tom Hart will review the rise and fall and rise of trams and trains and the rise of cars lorries and buses.

The presentation will be followed by a celebration of 25 years of STSG.
